2018 Honens Prize Laureate: Pianist Nicolas Namoradze

New York-based pianist and composer Nicolas Namoradze is the 2018 winner of Canada’s Honens International Piano Competition. In this recital, Namoradze presents a number of cross-temporal musical relationships, including pairing Scriabin’s “Black Mass” and J.S. Bach’s Sinfonia in F minor, highlighting the intricate polyphony of the textures in Scriabin’s Sonata and the chromaticism in Bach’s Sinfonia. He closes the program with his own etudes and the world premiere of his Arabesque.
