9/11 After 15 Years: A Reflection

imaginesmallWith Leader Anne Klaeysen and the Peace of Heart Choir

Almost a generation ago, on a bright Tuesday morning, it felt like the earth had stopped spinning. Tragedy struck in the form of planes turned into weapons. Thousands of people were killed, a nation mourned and then plunged into a war that lives on today. When the dust settled and the debris was cleared, we realized that the earth was still spinning and our lives were reeling out of control.
On this fifteenth anniversary, in spoken and sung words, with full and heavy hearts, we will share a community reflection. Where were we then? Where are we now? How can we do our part in this world to promote loving kindness and peace?
The New York Society for Ethical Culture is a humanist community dedicated to ethical relationships, social justice, and environmental stewardship. Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead  (212-874-5210 x107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
