Few people know Abraham Lincoln as intimately as Harold Holzer. The author, co-author, or editor of over 50 books on Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War era, Holzer has explored everything from Lincoln’s election to his assassination, his views on immigration to his role as a father. In this conversation, Holzer joins David M. Rubenstein to discuss the life and times of America’s 16th president.

Fanton Director of the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College and the author, most recently, of Brought Forth on this Continent: Abraham Lincoln and American ImmigrationDavid M. Rubenstein (moderator), co-founder and co-chairman of the Carlyle Group, is the host of History with David Rubenstein on PBS and the author of The Highest Calling: Conversations on the American Presidency, among other books.
