ACFNY Presents: strings&noise

The violin and cello duo strings&noise collaborates with filmmaker Melanie Hollaus and composer Daniel Riegler in the music video ZEN. “ZEN is about the balance of controlling things and letting go. About seeking the perfect moment and dealing with missing it. About everyday live and its many ups and downs. It should be listened to very intensely and not be taken too seriously,” says composer Daniel Riegler.

Filmed at a construction site next to the Südosttangente – one of Vienna’s major highways, in ZEN strings&noise continue to tear down misperceptions that string instruments – especially when played by women — are made only for sweet-sounding melodies. strings&noise is a duo of Vienna-based musicians Maiken Beer (cello) and Sophia Goidinger-Koch (violin). Free, on ACFNY’s Youtube channel.
