Addiction Performance Project: St. George Library

The Addiction Performance Project is a free, interactive event, that presents dramatic readings of Act Three of Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey into Night as a catalyst for guided discussions about drug abuse and addiction as they affect individuals, families, caregivers, and communities. This unique participatory event is open to everyone and intended to break down the stigma associated with addiction and promote healthy conversations among diverse communities, fostering compassion and understanding.

The NYC Department of Veterans’ Services and Department of Cultural Affairs named Bryan Doerries Artistic Director of Theater of War Productions, as the city’s Newest Public Artist in Residence (PAIR). Over the next two years. Theater of War Productions will bring theater projects and community conversations that address critical public health and social issues to all five boroughs. All events are free and will take place in more than 60 venues across New York City. The project will combine theater and public forums that engage both veterans and civilians in community-specific performances that foster health and healing through open discussion and exchange.
