Afternoon Jazz with Bijan Taghavi and Friends

Bijan Taghavi is an Iranian-American pianist, composer, and educator based in NYC. Well-versed in many styles, Taghavi recently performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Blue Note Amsterdam, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the Apollo Theatre and toured Japan with his trio. Also a sought-after composer/arranger, Taghavi has a body of work for studio orchestra, big band, string quartet, and more. A recipient of the Presser Foundation Scholarship, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Jazz Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and has studied with Phil Markowitz and Fred Hersch.
