AIANY Architecture Cruise: Climate Change & Future of NYC

A 2-hour-and-45-minute boat cruise led by AIANY expert guide Doug Fox, exploring climate change and environmental justice across New York City's waterfront.

The tour traces how interdisciplinary teams of urban planners, architects, landscape architects, and community groups are responding to storm surges, intense rainfall, and rising temperatures — while examining the disproportionate environmental burden carried by moderate-income neighborhoods and communities of color. Green buildings and sustainable designs that reduce energy consumption, water usage, and pollution are highlighted throughout.
