Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company

Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company celebrates its 45th anniversary with a program of works by Eleo Pomare and artistic director Enrique Cruz Dejesus.  A company premiere is Pomare’s 1967 Las Desenamoradas, set to music by John Coltrane and based on Lorca’s play “House of Bernada Alba.”   Dejesus will show the world premiere of his Mending Minds, dealing with caretakers, and asking who will care for the caring?  Also by Pomare is his acclaimed solo Narcissus Rising, the solo that propelled him into the forefront of modern dance in 1968.   Originally danced by the choreographer, the leather/cycle rider will now be danced by Donna Clark.   Pomare’s Radeau (Raft) depicts three women in a raft escaping strife-torn Haiti.  The program will be completed by DeJesus’s delicious Evolution, a romp set to the irresistible rhythms of Tito Puente.
