An Evening with Pia Camil

Mexican artist Pia Camil joins Pablo León de la Barra, Curator at Large, Latin America, for a discussion of her practice, centered on a new project commissioned by the museum’s Latin American Circle. Here Comes the Sun (2019) extends the artist’s engagement with collaboration, the impact of consumer culture, contemporary trade routes, and the legacies of modernism through a crowdsourced fabric sculpture created specifically for the Guggenheim’s rotunda. Organized on the occasion of the museum’s 60th anniversary, the program will be followed by a celebration featuring a communal interaction with Camil’s new work.

$25, $20 members, $18 students. Ticket includes same-day museum admission and access to the celebration following the program. Same-day admission tickets may be presented at the door for free entry to the event as space allows.
