Angelica Jawlensky Bianconi: “Art Is Yearning for God”

On February 16, 2017, Neue Galerie New York will open “Alexei Jawlensky,” the first full museum retrospective in the United States devoted to the work of the Russian-born Expressionist artist Alexei Jawlensky (1864-1941). Jawlensky moved to Munich in 1896, where he became an integral member of the artistic avant-garde that advanced important developments in Expressionism and abstraction.
