Anita Hill: Speaking Truth to Power

As the storm over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court rocked the nation, déjà vu crackled in the air with memories of Anita Hill’s historic testimony during the confirmation hearings of Clarence Thomas about unwanted advances, sexual innuendo and pornography. Her bravery in the face of indignity emboldened women from all walks of life to bring forth sexual harassment lawsuits — and echoed silently when Christine Blasey Ford took the stand.

Hill’s example resonates throughout the #MeToo movement, and we are honored to welcome her to the Streicker Center to talk about her lifelong battle against discrimination, for racial and gender equality and to ensure that the #MeToo movement dwindles for lack of need.

Moderated by New York Times columnist Gail Collins.
