Another Way of Being in the World

Tricycle’s Winter 2018 issue just hit newsstands, doorsteps, and browsers, giving us much to celebrate. If you’re in the New York area, join us on Thursday, December 13 at the Here Now Space in the West Village to toast the launch of our newly redesigned issue and take a behind-the-scenes look at the magazine with our editors.

We’ll reflect on pages from new issue and turn toward what comes next with three Tricycle contributors who will lead a thought-provoking discussion about practice and politics, which will be moderated by Tricycle’s editor and publisher James Shaheen.

Five-term New Hampshire state rep. Suzanne Harvey will discuss why more Buddhists should run for public office; Zen priest Kurt Spellmeyer will give instructions for maintaining equanimity in a world that’s ablaze with anger and uncertainty; and Dharma Punk Buddhist teacher Josh Korda will encourage us to confront our own emotional and psychological issues in order to be resilient agents of change in our communities.

The evening talk will be followed by a wine and cheese reception. Your ticket ($20) includes a copy of Tricycle’s latest issue.

Tricycle: The Buddhist Review is a print and digital magazine dedicated to making Buddhist teachings and practices broadly available. Tricycle also offers monthly spiritual films online, podcasts with leading Buddhist voices, weekly dharma talk videos, online courses with expert teachers, and pilgrimages to Buddhist sites around the world.

Here Now Space is a new multimedia venue for creation and collaboration. They host yoga and meditation classes, workshops, talks, art exhibitions, and more.
