APPsolute Fun!

Laura Tallardy is an app developer and children’s illustrator. Her first three apps were released in 2012 and downloaded over 35k+ times, won several awards and each broke into Apple’s top 100 games lists.

She will talk about her transition from children’s book illustrator to independent app developer, the early stages of her apps and what they look like now. Laura will then walk the audience step-by-step through the app-making process from idea to app store, and explain the app economy and how to turn a profit in this new and competitive market. lauratallardy.com

Monika Maniecki is an illustrator who works both digitally and traditionally.  She fell in love with digital painting while pursuing her MFA in Illustration at FIT, and it has informed the way she approaches oil painting. After recently discovering Japanese brush pens, she now always keeps a pen and sketchbook on hand so that she can capture impromptu portraits of life in New York City, where she lives. She also avidly draws and paints using her iPad. Her work has been recognized in Communication Arts illustration annuals, 3×3 Magazineillustration annuals, The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, Creative Quarterly and American Illustration. Monika currently teaches the integration of traditional and digital media for the MFA in Illustration program at FIT. monikamaniecki.com
