Arte del Mar: The Caribbean

For thousands of years, the Caribbean Sea has been a connecting agent for peoples who navigated its swift ocean currents along the coasts of what is now northern South America, Central America, and the Antilles archipelago. Artistic expression, both in its formal grammar and deeply rooted mythological concepts, inextricably linked peoples in these areas. This talk celebrates the ancient arts of the peoples who inhabited the rim of the Caribbean Sea, both on the continental mainland and the islands.

Tickets include same-day Museum admission.
