Artist Spotlight: Juanita Lanzo & Michael Ferris Jr.

Juanita Lanzo is a visual artist working with large scale water-based color drawings of subjective organic forms. Her works have been exhibited at Aljira Center for Contemporary Arts in Newark, NJ, Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos, Bronx, Mini Print Biennial of Cadaques, Spain, Museo de Arte de Caguas, among others. She is also the Director and Curator of Longwood Arts Project, the contemporary art center of the Bronx Council on the Arts since 2008. Michael Ferris Jr. created sculptures from transformed discarded wood. Most recently his figurative sculpture and drawings were shown in a solo exhibition at Lehman College, Bronx, NY. His work was previously exhibited with George Adams Gallery, NYC, and will be exhibited in the summer at the Elmhurst Art Museum. He is the recipient NYFA, New York Foundation of the Arts, a BRIO (Bronx recognizes its Own), an Arts Fund Grant, and a SPARC grant from the Bronx Council on the Arts/ DCA, NY.
