“Backbone” Book Party with Karen Duffy

“My friend Karen Duffy, who lives with unimaginable pain, has taught me so much; that my complaints are the most ridiculous in the world.” -George Clooney

For two decades, Karen Duffy has managed to live a lavish, full life, despite living in a state of constant, chronic pain. In “Backbone,” she draws on her experience to illuminate gratifying methods people can use to cope and find strength through excruciating discomfort. Addressing a country ravaged by both chronic pain and opioid addiction, Backbone is filled with perseverance, self-sufficiency and spunk.

Join our friend Karen Duffy, as we celebrate her book and spirit with the release of “Backbone.”

RSVP required to attend.  Autographed and personalized copies of Backbone will be available for purchase. 100% of book sales during the party will be donated to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research.

Karen Duffy is the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir Model Patient. A former MTV VJ, Duff has appeared in numerous movies such as Dumb and Dumber and Celebrity, and was a correspondent for Michael Moore’s Emmy-winning TV Nation and The Awful Truth. In a rare feat, she once won an Ernest Borgnine Look-a-Like Contest while simultaneously being a Revlon “Charlie Girl” and the face of Almay Cosmetics. Duff is a certified hospital chaplain, a former Ms. Coney Island Mermaid Queen, a member of the Alliance for the Ethical Treatment of Pain Patients, and a board member of the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research. Her work has been featured in more than 100 media outlets, including The New York Times, Oprah Magazine, NBC, HBO, and the Wall Street Journal.
