A night of music, film, and food celebrating the premiere of Bloodlines, a documentary by director Jon Fine tracing the arc of an extraordinary cross-cultural music project from informal NYC gatherings to work-in-progress concerts to three performances at the Big Ears 2026 festival in Knoxville.
The evening opens with dishes from the Bloodlines Kitchen — recipes inspired by the band members' family heritage — followed by a screening of the film and a closing jam session. The documentary was shot over the course of a year and follows a project that uses cultural exchange and personal history as a springboard for making new music.
Performers include Fay Victor, Jen Shyu, Kaoru Watanabe, Layale Chaker, Marika Hughes, and Nasheet Waits.
Tuesday, July 1, doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m. | Seated performance
