Book Discussion in Domino Park: The Rise and Fall of the Sugar King

We’re partnering with Domino Park and taking the book group out of the library!

Join us near the site of the old Domino Sugar Refinery for a discussion of The Rise and Fall of the Sugar King by local historian Geoffrey Cobb. The book’s main narrative centers around the sugar empire built by Henry Osborne Havemeyer on Kent Avenue, which eventually became the Domino Refinery. It is a tale of crime, greed, and corruption, but also the story of Williamsburg itself.

Geoffrey Cobb will be on hand to answer your questions and take part in the discussion.

Meet at Domino Park by the Screw Conveyers near Tacocina.

We will soon have copies of the book to borrow. Please register and we will contact you when they are available.
