Book Launch: Andrew Blum Presents The Weather Machine

In conversation with Joe Brown
Reception to follow

Andrew Blum, author of the widely acclaimed Tubes, returns to Greenlight to present his newest book, The Weather Machine. In the world of increasingly unpredictable climate change, correctly predicting and understanding the weather is of paramount importance. Blum seeks to increase this understanding by telling the story of one of the greatest technological achievements in the last decade: the supercomputer weather models or, as Blum refers to it, the “weather machine.” In this sharp and infectiously curious book, Blum emphasizes both the importance of trusting weather forecasts and the risk of the privatization of the weather reporting industry. Joining him in conversation is Joe Brown, Editor-in-Chief of Popular Science and VP, editorial director of Bonnier Media. A reception follows to celebrate the book’s launch.
