LOUFFA PRESS is pleased to announce a book launch for António Olaio’s new artist book of graphite drawings, Recalling what went through my mind while waiting for John Cage’s 4’ 33’’ to end, part of a series of artist books published by Louffa Press. Recalling what went through my mind while waiting for John Cage’s 4’ 33’’ to end by António Olaio is produced in a limited edition of 15, each signed and numbered by the artist.

António Olaio was born in 1963 in Sá da Bandeira, Angola and lives in Coimbra, Portugal. He is Director of Colégio das Artes, Professor in the Architecture Department and researcher at the Centro de Estudos Sociais at the University of Coimbra. He finished his Ph.D with a dissertation entitled “The field of art according to Marcel Duchamp.” He was one of the founders of the rock group “Reporter Estrábico” in 1986 and, since 1995, the songs he performs with musician João Taborda are frequently presented in his videos and exhibitions.

Jerome Ellison Murphy is a poet based in New York. In 2011 he earned an MFA from the Creative Writing Program at NYU, where he currently serves as Undergraduate Programs Manager.​ He is co-curator of the Bespoke reading series at BGSQD bookstore. He reviews poetry for Publishers Weekly, and has served on the board of Lambda Literary Foundation. ​​​​​His writing has been featured in LA Review of Books, The Brooklyn Rail, Lambda Literary, and American Poets. His poetry appears at Narrative Magazine, The Awl, Bellevue Literary Review, St. Sebastian Review, and on the ceiling as you lie awake at 4 a.m.

Jeffrey Grunthaner is a writer, curator, and performer based in New York. Their articles, reviews, poems and essays have appeared via Drag City Books, Hyperallergic, BOMB, Archinect, Folder, artnet News, the 2016 Queens International exhibition catalogue, Imperial Matters, and other venues. Their chapbook THE TTTROUBLEWWITH SUUNDAAYS was published by Louffa Press in 2014.

Ross Benes is the author of Turned On: A Mind-Blowing Investigation into How Sex Has Shaped Our World. He has written for The Wall Street Journal, Esquire, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, and others. He also writes and sings obnoxious songs when he has some spare time.

THE MISSION behind Louffa Press is to foster a venue for limited edition, collectible, handmade chapbooks and artist books by a wide array of authors and artists whose voices must be heard; to introduce new and innovative flash fiction, short stories, poetry, and those forms less easily classified; to put forth into the world precious artifacts that embody in their physical form a meticulously tailored and individualist aesthetic.
