BPL Presents LitFilm, A BPL Film Festival About Writers

LitFilm – BPL’s popular film festival about writers, now in its fourth year – returns this fall with an exciting lineup of documentaries and films, highlighting some of the most influential and iconoclastic literary minds, jostling for their places in the ever-shifting canon. Get an inside look at the private lives, artistic process and political struggles of luminaries such as Hannah Arendt, Truman Capote, Carlos Marighella, Jill and N. Scott Momaday, Flannery O’Connor, Amy Tan, Tennessee Williams, August Wilson, and more.

LitFilm features filmmakers Lynn Novick delivering the keynote talk on literary documentaries and filmmaking partnerships, Sam Pollard discussing August Wilson, and Jill and N. Scott Momaday presenting Jill’s memoir-film based on her father’s book, Return to Rainy Mountain.

All screenings are free. RSVP required.
