Brainwave 2013: The Physicist (Is Time Real?)

We all know time isn’t real. Or do we? In his new book, Time Reborn, controversial theoretical physicist Lee Smolin takes on revolutionary scientific thinkers from Plato to Newton to Einstein, by maintaining that time is not an illusion we must overcome, but a reality we must embrace in order to solve the current problems in physics. Smolin, known for his influential contributions to the search for a unification of physics, hopes that changing the way we think about time will directly impact our understanding of the world, in everything from the current economic crisis to climate control. In conversation with internationally recognized expert on time perception, Warren Meck.
