Brandstand: Techlash

The SVA Masters in Branding alumni network is hosting its annual event, Brandstand, on Friday Dec 7th at the SVA Theater.

Every fall, we put the year’s most influential topic on ‘the stand’ to dissect, debate, and discuss. This year, we’ll explore the pervasive nature of technology and the implication for our society at Brandstand: Techlash.

We have an incredible lineup of speakers and panelists who will explore the topic from multidisciplinary perspectives:

  • Ian Bogost: Author, Contributing Editor at The Atlantic, Game Designer, and Professor of media studies and computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Emerson T. Brooking: Expert on social media and conflict, Co-Author of LikeWar: The Weaponization of Social Media
  • Cynthia Pratomo: Creative Director/Design Coach at Wolff Olins, New York City
  • Anthony Ha: Senior Writer at TechCrunch covering media and advertising, Co-host of the Original Content podcast
  • Mike Murphy: Deputy Technology Editor at Quartz focusing on machines with brains and consumer electronics

Plus Debbie Millman will announce the ‘Brand of the Year’

The event is free and all are welcome. See the event website for more information and register here.
