A musical and spoken-word performance of Brer Rabbit Retold, a feminist retelling and reclaiming of the original Brer Rabbit tales compiled from oral slave narratives from the American South. Written by Syracuse University professor and griot, Arthur Flowers, illustrated by Indigenous Indian textile painter, Jagdish Chitara, and set to an original soundtrack, Brer Rabbit Retold straddles many mediums – the visual, tactile, musical and spoken.
