CaringKind Hosts Annual Hispanic Heritage Conference

On Monday, September 25, 2017, CaringKind, NYC’s leading experts on Alzheimer’s and dementia caregiving, will host its Annual Hispanic Heritage Conference. The conference was created for health and social service professionals, researchers, public officials, and families impacted by an Alzheimer’s or dementia diagnosis

Through a series of presentations and discussions, the conference will help to increase awareness and expand knowledge surrounding the impact of Alzheimer’s and dementia on the Latino community. Presentations will also address caregiving skills and information on how to fully utilize the health and social support resources that exist for caregivers today.

Notable speakers include:

  • Ricardo Osorio, MD, Assistant Professor Department of Psychiatry, NYU Langone Health, discussing research on the relationship of sleep, cognition, and the prevalence of the Alzheimer’s in the Latino community.
  • José A. Luchsinger, MD MPH, Associate Professor of Medicine & Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center and the Taub Institute at NYPH/CUMC, discussing research and analysis into caregiving challenges unique to the Hispanic community.

The free conference will be conducted in English and will include a light lunch.
