CaringKind Hosts Special Educational Meeting in Manhattan: “Placing Your Relative in a Nursing Home”
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Manhattan residents are invited to attend a special educational meeting, “Placing Your Relative in a Nursing Home” seminar hosted by CaringKind, NYC’s leading expert in Alzheimer’s and dementia care for more than three decades. CaringKind was formerly known as the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter.
The free meeting is designed specifically for family and friends who are caring for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia. The meeting will focus on five areas:
• Long-term care options
• The steps involved in moving a person with dementia to a nursing home
• Paying for nursing home care
• How to ease the transition for both the person and the caregiver
• How to be a successful advocate for a nursing home resident
A CaringKind staff member will lead the meeting which will take place at CaringKind in midtown Manhattan.
