Celebrate LGBT History Month at Green-Wood

Green-Wood celebrates LGBT History Month with a special trolley tour focusing on its “permanent residents” who have made a lasting impact on American culture in the nineteenth an twentieth centuries. You will visit the graves of important LGBT figures including activists and founders of the Hetrick Martin Institute, Drs. Emery Hetrick and Damien Martin; “New York, New York” lyricist, Fred Ebb; sculptor of Central Park’s Bethesda Foundation, Emma Stebbins; and “It’s Raining Men” co-writer Paul Jabara, among others. Tour goers will mark each grave with a rainbow flag. This trolley tour is organized in conjunction with NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project.

This trolley tour is $25; $20 for members of The Green-Wood Historic Fund and members of the Brooklyn Historical Society. Reservations are recommended. If the trolley tour is not sold out, walk-ups will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
