Cephalopod Movie Night with Science Friday and Atlas Obscura

They’re quick, they’re clever, they’re masters of disguise and every year public radio program Science Friday dedicates a week to celebrating them. Cephalopod Week, Science Friday’s annual celebration of some of the smartest, most interesting invertebrates on Earth, is back for its fifth year, and Atlas Obscura and Science Friday are teaming up to make it a total cephalo-party!

Join us for an evening of talk, tentacles, and merriment, featuring four original short films from Science Friday at Caveat. This evening is your chance to rub elbows with cephalopod researchers Frank Grasso, Jenny Basil, and Sarah McAnulty and Science Friday video producer Luke Groskin — and ask them anything you want to know about these amazing, adaptive, and sometimes creepy creatures.

You’ll join other Atlas Obscura Society members and Science Friday listeners for this very special screening, sip the special cephalopod-themed cocktails and devour snacks made especially for this evening, and engage in riveting conversation as you enjoy scenes of giant octopus attacks from vintage cult film.

Two sessions:

  1. 6:30 doors, 7:00 show
  2. 9:00 doors, 9:30 show
