On the occasion of Jay DeFeo: A Retrospective, this roundtable will dispel popular myths associated with DeFeo’s life in order to illuminate her diverse oeuvre in its entirety. Scholars and artists including Rebecca Quaytman, Richard Shiff, Bill Berkson, and exhibition curator Dana Miller will consider the broader art historical context of DeFeo’s work and her lasting influence on contemporary artists.
