Cholera struck New York City in 1832 as part of the Second Pandemic. How did the disease spread? How was it treated in an era before germ theory? How did it affect public health? Join us for a talk by Dr. Cathy Falvo who will explore New Yorkers' response to the outbreak and discuss how public attitudes about the disease reflected fears of immigrants, poor residents and others.
