City Arts & Lectures Presents a LIVESTREAM with Robert Reich

Robert Reich is Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley and Senior Fellow at the Blum Center for Developing Economies. Former Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration, he has written 15 books, including AftershockThe Work of Nations, and Saving Capitalism. In his latest, The System, Reich shows how wealth and power have interacted to install an elite oligarchy, eviscerate the middle class, and undermine democracy.

Astra Taylor’s engagement with philosophy, democracy, and political organizing transcends form, emerging through documentary films, books, essays, and social activism. Her feature documentaries include What Is Democracy? (2018), Zizek! (2005), and An Examined Life (2008). Taylor is also the author of Democracy May Not Exist, But We’ll Miss It When It’s Gone, and the American Book Award-winning The People’s Platform: Taking Back Power and Culture in the Digital Age.

This event will live-stream at cityarts.net for free to the public. Recorded content will be available at cityarts.net until 3/30. No tickets are necessary. If you would like to help support production costs for this web event, you may purchase a ticket ($29 and $45).
