CityLaw Breakfast Featuring Commissioner Steven Banks, NYC Department of Social Services

New York Law School’s CityLaw Breakfast Series ends 2016 with a talk on poverty and homelessness in New York City by Department of Social Services Commissioner Steven Banks. Banks has dedicated his entire career to improving the lives of low-income New Yorkers, from his 33 years with the Legal Aid Society to his current appointment, where he is a key leader in Mayor Bill de Blasio’s efforts to expand opportunities, address income inequality, and ensure that residents receive the benefits and assistance to which they are entitled.

Anthony W. Crowell, Dean and President of New York Law School and former counselor to Mayor Bloomberg, and Professor Ross Sandler, founding director of the Center for New York City Law at New York Law School, will give opening remarks.

CityLaw breakfasts are held six to eight times a year at New York Law School and feature prominent speakers discussing current government and political issues. They are free and open to the public. An audience Q&A follows each speaker’s remarks. The events are often broadcast by NYC Media cable television throughout the five boroughs and are webcast live at www.citylandnyc.org. Founding sponsors of the breakfasts include Consolidated Edison, Verizon, and Greenberg Traurig LLP. This is the 139th CityLaw Breakfast.

RSVP appreciated.
