Civic Engagement Series: Common Cause

Greenlight’s Civic Engagement Series hosts nonprofit groups working in social justice, community organizing, and the arts, with the goal of providing tools for community involvement and support to those doing necessary work in our culture. 20% of all book sales on the entire day of the event will be donated to the featured organization, and an option for direct donation will be available at the event. For September, Greenlight hosts Common Cause NY, the nonpartisan grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy, and working to promote honest, open, accountable government in New York City, Albany and Washington, DC. Common Cause uses every available tool — mobilizing its nearly 1 million members nationwide, as well as litigation, research, and policy advocacy — to hold power accountable and work towards a government that is responsive to all its people. It is on the front lines, fighting for fair, verifiable and secure elections where all eligible voters can cast their ballots and have them accurately counted. Working with RocktheVote and myriad community partners, its Generation Vote NYC project unites the next generation of young voters to have a voice in co-creating NYC’s future.
