Conversation with Brian Matyas, Lucasfilm

Brian Matyas is Senior Character and Costume Concept Designer at Lucasfilm. Brian graduated with a BFA in Illustration at Columbus College of Art & Design before beginning his career as a concept artist at Disney’s ImageMovers Digital. With over a decade of working in the entertainment industry on various video game and film projects, he now leads character concept development at Lucasfilm on projects such as the Galaxy’s Edge theme park and The Mandalorian, which won 7 of 15 Emmy Awards for which it was nominated. Hear about Matyas’ journey as an artist through different traditional mediums to digital, and hear about the creative process for what it takes to be a prolific concept artist.
