Conversations with Contemporary Artists: Samia Halaby

As part of The Elaine Terner Cooper Education Fund Conversations with Contemporary Artists series, abstract painter and influential scholar of Palestinian art Samia Halaby (b. 1936, Jerusalem) discusses her work, and how new approaches to painting can contribute to technological and social advancement. A Q&A moderated by Sasha Kalter-Wasserman, Associate Curator, Abu Dhabi Project, Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, will follow the talk. A pioneer of contemporary abstraction, Halaby’s paintings are in the collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
