One of the country’s leading journalists, Dan Rather, has just written a memoir, Rather Outspoken: My Life in News (Grand Central Publishing), which comes out the day after our event. Rather’s frank accounting of his storied career, mostly spent at CBS News, includes details about his coverage of President Nixon and Watergate, the origin of “Hurricane Dan,” the reporting of the Abu Ghraib story and the controversy surrounding his story on George W.
