Danny Goldberg on Kurt Cobain, with Eric Alterman

Danny Goldberg has been in the music business since the late 1960s, working as a rock journalist, publicist for Led Zeppelin, founder of Modern Records, and head of Atlantic, Warner Bros. and Mercury Records. In the 1980s he founded the management company Gold Mountain Entertainment whose clients included Bonnie Raitt, the Allman Brothers and Nirvana. Goldberg is the author of In Search Of The Lost Chord: 1967 and the Hippie Idea, Bumping Into Geniuses, and How The Left Lost Teen Spirit.

Eric Alterman is Distinguished Professor of English, Brooklyn College, City University of New York and the “Liberal Media” columnist for The Nation. Alterman is the author of ten books, including the national bestseller What Liberal Media? The Truth About Bias and the News. A winner of the George Orwell Prize, the Stephen Crane Literary Award and the Mirror Award for media criticism (twice), Alterman has been a Media Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
