David Amram and Friends: A Celebration

In 1966, Leonard Bernstein chose composer David Amram as composer-in-residence with the New York Philharmonic. Amram collaborated with authors and classical soloists, and he performed with such greats as Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Pete Seeger, Odetta, Willie Nelson, Paquito d’Rivera, Tito Puente, and others.

Author, activist, father, and grandfather, Amram shares his unique message of creativity, integrity, and inclusivity across the world. He appears at the National Arts Club with an ensemble consisting of Kenneth A. Radnofsky on saxophone, Elmira Darvarova on violin, Howard Wall on French horn, Thomas Weaver on piano, and Adira Amram as narrator. Together, they perform Amram’s compositions and chamber works.
