David Means

David Means is the author of five short story collections, including Assorted Fire Events, which earned the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for fiction, The Secret Goldfish, short-
listed for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award, The Spot, selected as a 2019 Notable Book by The New York Times, and, most recently, Instructions for a Funeral. His first novel, Hystopia, published in 2016, was nominated for the Man Booker Prize. His stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Paris Review, Esquire, Vice, The Best American Short Stories, The Best American Mystery Stories, The O. Henry Prize Stories, and The Pushcart Prize Stories. Means lives in Nyack, New York, and teaches at Vassar College.

Deborah Eisenberg

Deborah Eisenberg is a MacArthur Foundation Fellow and the recipient of honors including the 2011 PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, a Whiting Writer’s Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Eisenberg has published five collections of stories: Your Duck Is My Duck (2018); Transactions in a Foreign Currency (1986), Under the 82nd Airborne (1992), All Around Atlantis(1997), and Twilight of the Superheroes (2006). Her first two story collections were republished in one volume as The Stories (So Far) of Deborah Eisenberg (1997). All four volumes were reprinted in 2010 in The Collected Stories of Deborah Eisenberg (2010). She is a professor of writing at Columbia University.
