Chez Jolie Coiffure is set entirely in shop owner Sabine’s underground salon, not much larger than a take-out stand, in the the Matonge quarter of Brussels – where she moved to from Cameroon. Filmmaker Rosine Mbakam films the shop over the course of a year, capturing the day-to-day lives and concerns of West African women in a space they can call their own. Director Rosine Mbakam joins for a post-screening Q&A via live video.
