The Death of Oedipus Chamber Opera

Composer/librettist Martin Halpern presents his chamber opera “The Death of Oedipus,” freely based on Sophocles’ last play “Oedipus at Colonus.”   As a former professor of English and American Literature at the U of Ca/Berkeley, the U of Mass/Amherst, and Brandeis U for almost 30 years, the venerable Mr. Halpern takes his inspiration for his chamber operas from great works of literature.   Singers are Jim Trainor, Emily Stokes, Aram Tchobanian, Joseph Mace, and Joseph Peterson, accompanied on piano by Raisa Kagramanova.
