The Art of Deep Listening from Buddhist and Quaker Traditions (Virtual)

When: Sat, Aug 22 at 10:00am - 1:00pm

Where: Submitted Location
Price: $99

Dharma teacher Valerie Brown — who has spent three decades practicing at the intersection of Buddhist and Quaker contemplative paths, first as a student of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh and later as a member of the Religious Society of Friends — leads a three-hour workshop on deep listening.

Most of us listen with an agenda: to respond, to fix, for confirmation. Both traditions offer practices for something different — staying present before we know what to say. Through guided meditation, shared silence, and contemplative questioning drawn from both paths, participants explore how to sit with what is unfinished and let deeper knowing emerge at its own pace.

Open to all levels. Recorded; registrants receive the recording afterward. Online via Zoom.
