What’s Left of Us? Memory, AI, and the New Phase of Humanity

'I used to know 30 phone numbers by heart. Now I don't know my mother's cell number. Am I dumber? Or have I just offloaded memory to technology so I can use my brain for other things?'

Every technological shift changes what it means to be human; literacy changed oral tradition, calculators changed mental math, GPS changed spatial memory. AI is doing this at scale and speed we've never seen.

The question isn't whether AI is making us "less human"—it's whether we're measuring humanity by the wrong metrics, and whether what we're losing actually mattered in the first place.

Where do we go from here?

This Salon is facilitated by Tiffany Hart, Co-Founder and CEO of Connection Care AI (HIPAA-secure AI companionship for seniors). A Harvard MBA and host of the Confluently podcast, Tiffany is a former World Economic Forum partnerships leader with seven Davos appearances under her belt. After thirteen years navigating the rooms where institutional power brokers make decisions, she is now building AI designed to work for the population the industry often ignores: those over 65 who didn't grow up with technology, but need it most.

This event is hosted by Pearl Social, a curated community for intellectuals. Members get priority RSVP.
