Design Is One. Lella & Massimo Vignelli

On the occasion of the exhibition Italian Types, on view at the Institute from March 21 to May 2, we present a special screening of Design Is One. Lella & Massimo Vignellia documentary by Kathy Brew and Roberto Guerra. Following the screening, co-director Kathy Brew, in a conversation with designer Jonathan Wajskol, will discuss the film and the Vignellis.

Lella and Massimo Vignelli were two of the world’s most influential designers, whose work encompassed everything from graphics and interior design to corporate identities. Their work is prominently featured in the “Italian Types” exhibition.

Kathy Brew is a filmmaker whose experience spans experimental work to independent documentaries and public television productions. She has worked for public television on both the west and east coasts – WNET/Channel Thirteen in NY and KQED/Channel 9 in San Francisco.

Jonathan Wajskol is an Italian-born designer working in the field of visual communication. He is the founder of designwajskol, a communications and identity design firm based in New York City, and teaches at the Parsons School of Design.
