Designing for Death

Many of us give a lot of thought to the design of our homes. New furniture? New paint? Complete reno? What about designing your “permanent residence?” Explore the architectural trends and fads of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries that define Green-Wood’s distinct landscape, including Egyptian Revival, Neoclassical, Art Deco, and Art Nouveau. This walking tour highlights monuments and mausoleums that were the epitome of fashionable taste.

This program is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

This walking tour is $20; $15 for members of The Green-Wood Historic Fund and members of the Brooklyn Historical Society. Reservations are recommended. To make an online reservation or to find out more information, visit www.green-wood.com/toursevents or call 718-210-3080.
