Developing Resilience: The Key to Thriving in the Face of Stress and Adversity

Current research shows that developing resilience is tremendously helpful to a successful life.

It is useful and empowering for adults, as well as children and teens. The seminar will give participants information to help them better cope with stress, adversity and even trauma. You will leave with new information, tools and resources to effectively overcome life’s challenges.


Joanne Gerr, L.C.S.W., is a private practitioner with over 15 year experience helping clients in Manhattan and New Jersey. She offers individual and group counseling to a broad spectrum of clients including men, women, children and adolescents. Participants in her therapy groups and individual practice have credited Joanne with helping them find solutions to troubling issues and attain more meaningful and satisfying lives.

Joanne graduated from Simmons College with Honors, and received her graduate degree from the University of Michigan. Her post-graduate education includes intensive study in eating problems and the psychology of women at The Women’s Therapy Center Institute as well as extensive training through Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry Continuing Education Program.
