Dozier Hasty and Nancy Havens-Hasty to Receive Green-Wood’s Highest Honor

Longtime Brooklyn Heights residents Dozier Hasty and Nancy Havens-Hasty will receive The DeWitt Clinton Award for Excellence Green-Wood’s highest honor — at the tenth annual fundraising gala taking place on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Green-Wood Cemetery, a National Historic Landmark located in Brooklyn.

The evening will feature cocktails alfresco followed by a seated dinner and award presentation in one of the city’s most historic natural landscapes. The event will offer an auction of unique items and experiences, each with a special tie to Green-Wood and its history.  All proceeds will support the Green-Wood Historic Fund and its many programs, including restoration of the landmarked Weir Greenhouse, trolley and walking tours, educational programs, concerts, and outdoor theater.

Dozier Hasty has been the publisher of the Brooklyn Eagle since 1996 and has been a fixture on the Brooklyn scene for almost four decades. He has an abiding love and passion for Brooklyn institutions. Nancy Havens-Hasty began her career in finance in the 1970s, when she was one of the first female investment bankers on Wall Street. She is now the President and Portfolio Manager at Havens Advisors LLC. Their passionate support of Green-Wood’s Annual Memorial Day Concert has been a boon to the community.

Attire is business casual and guests should enter at Green-Wood’s main gate at 25th Street and 5th Avenue in Brooklyn. For information about the event, visit http://www.green-wood.com/benefit.
