Jacqueline Bouvier was a 20-year-old debutante from a wealthy East Coast family; Susan Sontag a precocious Jewish intellectual from North Hollywood; Angela Davis a French major at Brandeis and the only black student in her year-abroad program. All three would go on to be cultural icons, but each was shaped early on by the discoveries, intellectual adventures and loves found during their year abroad in Paris.
