About Robert M. Gates

Gates served as the 22nd United States Secretary of Defense in the administrations of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama from 2006 to 2011. Prior to his roles as Secretary of Defense, Gates was President of Texas A&M University from 2002 to 2006 and served as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency under President George H.W. Bush from 1991 to 1993. He is the author of Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War. Moderator to be announced.
