Ethical Consumerism: Oxymoron or Opportunity?

Join our panel for a discussion about the world of ethical fashion against the backdrop of the climate and pandemic crises.

In the wake of the pandemic, one of the biggest contributors to the climate crisis has taken a hit – for the better of the environment, but at the cost of garment workers’ job security. Apps such as Good On You signpost to a growing consumer interest in ethical brands, but is a new sustainable form of fashion possible, or is it simply conscious capitalism? What can businesses, governments and we as individuals do to ensure consumer choices don’t continue to negatively impact our environment?

As London Fashion Week once again approaches, we are inviting you to join us for a free event, as part of Selfridge’s Project Earth Campaign, with our panel, chaired by Guardian associate editor Jess Cartner-Morley, and featuring designer Christopher Raeburn, Fashion Revolution founder Orsola de Castro, and sustainable fashion writer Aja Barber.

This is a free-to-attend event, supported by Selfridges.
